Women's Muay Thai
Train Together. Build Confidence. Grow Stronger.
A Program Built for Women
Our Women’s Muay Thai program is designed to give women a supportive, structured environment to learn authentic Muay Thai, build confidence, and develop real skills through consistent training.
Located in Barrie, Ontario, the program welcomes women of all experience levels. Whether you have never stepped into a martial arts gym before or already have experience and are looking for a place to continue developing, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, challenge yourself, and progress alongside other women.
No previous martial arts experience is required.
Students are encouraged to work at their own pace while developing proper technique, coordination, conditioning, confidence, and a deeper understanding of Muay Thai.
This is more than a workout.
It is a Muay Thai program with a system, a curriculum, and a pathway for progression.

Who Is This Class For?
Our Women’s Muay Thai classes are open to women of all experience levels. You may be completely new to Muay Thai. You may be returning to training after time away. You may want to improve your fitness, learn a martial art, build confidence, or challenge yourself in a way you haven't before.
You do not need to get in shape before starting, and you don't need to know what you're doing before walking through the door. Teaching you is our job. Students train at their own pace while coaches provide instruction, technical feedback, and modifications where needed to help each person develop safely and confidently.
Everyone starts somewhere.
More Than Pad Work
Muay Thai is a martial art, and we believe it should be taught that way.
The Women’s program at Roots isn't built around simply memorizing combinations, getting a sweat in, and moving on to the next class. Students learn through a structured curriculum that develops skills progressively over time.
You will learn how to build a proper stance and base. How to move. How to strike correctly. How to defend. How to work with a partner. How to develop timing and distance. How to clinch. How techniques connect to one another. And, when appropriate, how to begin applying those skills in live training. Each stage builds on what came before it.
There is a reason behind what we teach, and there is a pathway forward as your skills develop.
Real training. Real coaching. Real progression.

Why Train at Roots?
You deserve good coaching and a training environment you actually feel good being part of.
At Roots, we care about both.
Our Women’s program is built around authentic Muay Thai, qualified coaching, and real progression. Our coaches are certified, actively compete and continue to develop their own knowledge, with practical and competitive experience behind what they teach. Because if you're trusting someone with your time, your money, and your training, we think that matters.
But Roots has never been just about what happens on the mats.
The people you train with matter, too.
We want women to be able to walk through our doors exactly as they are, whether they've never thrown a punch before or already love Muay Thai, and find a place where they can learn, challenge themselves, make friends, and genuinely feel comfortable being there.
Our Ladies members have their own group chat, Ladies Only events and activities, and a community that extends beyond their two classes each week. It's something we've built intentionally, because we want women to feel like they're part of Roots, not just paying for a membership.
We keep our pricing fair. We take our coaching seriously. We care about your progress. And we'll never expect you to fit a certain mould to belong here.
Good Muay Thai, good coaching, and good people. That's what we want Roots to be.

"Believe you can and you're halfway there."
