Roots Muay Thai opened in March 2025 in Barrie, Ontario.
Family-founded and built on a simple idea: to share Muay Thai in a way that’s approachable and accessible for everyone. We didn’t know if anyone would show up, but we kept putting in the work, and trusting the process.

Over time, Roots grew into more than a gym. Every class, every student, every small victory has helped build a community that is supportive, welcoming, and genuine.
The Mission
Our mission at Roots Muay Thai Academy is to provide a space where individuals of all levels can grow through the art of Muay Thai, embracing its traditions and discovering the unique benefits it offers as both a sport and an art.

It’s a place that feels like home, where everyone knows your name, friendships grow naturally, and the energy of the space comes from all of us training together.

Muay Thai is demanding, testing both body and mind. At Roots, challenges are embraced as opportunities to grow. Every difficult class, every mistake, and every step forward helps build the perseverance, focus, and mental toughness needed both inside the gym and in everyday life.
