Intermediate

Traditional Thai-style training.

Our Intermediate Muay Thai classes are intended for students with a minimum of six months of consistent Muay Thai training who are ready for a more independent training environment.

Unlike Fundamentals and All Levels classes, Intermediate training is less structured and places greater responsibility on the student. Athletes are expected to arrive prepared, complete the warm-up independently, and take ownership of their training throughout the session.

Rather than receiving constant instruction, students are given a training focus and expected to put in the work. Coaches remain available for guidance, corrections, and technical feedback, but students are encouraged to problem-solve, adapt, and develop greater independence in their training.

Training follows our rotating cycle and may include:

• Thai pad rounds
• Heavy bag rounds
• Technical sparring
• Boxing-only sparring
• Clinch work
• Situational drills
• Conditioning rounds

Depending on the training cycle, students can expect to complete between 6–10 rounds of work while developing conditioning, timing, ring awareness, and practical application of their skills.

Intermediate classes emphasize:

• Training volume
• Technical application
• Independent development
• Partner work
• Conditioning
• Controlled contact
• Fight IQ and ring awareness

Required Equipment

• Gloves
• Shin Guards
• Mouth Guard
• Groin Protection (males)

Recommended Equipment

• Knee Pads
• Elbow Pads

Minimum Experience Requirement

A minimum of six months of Muay Thai training is required to participate in Intermediate classes.

Students should have a solid understanding of fundamental techniques and be comfortable training with partners in a controlled-contact environment. Intermediate classes are intended for students who are ready to move beyond structured instruction and begin training in a manner more closely aligned with traditional Muay Thai gyms.
